We will see you on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 6PM, at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, located at 1812 W Main Street in Richmond, for our evening with Director Jesse Vaughan and Producer BK Fulton. If you remember the 90’s era hit TV show In Living Color, you’ve seen Jessie’s directorial work. Jesse is a veteran director of motion pictures, TV, music videos, and a documentarian. BK is founder of Soulidifly Productions and is a producer of PBS’s recent documentary film: W.E.B. Du Bois: Rebel with A Cause, featuring Viola Davis and Courtney B. Vance. Meet BK Fulton:

In 2026, BK produced the PBS film W.E.B. Du Bois: Rebel With A Cause, featuring Viola Davis and Courtney B. Vance. In 2027 Lions of the Sea will be released. It’s a successor film to March of the Penguins and is produced with Oscar winners Adam Leipzig, Meredith Blake, and Jim Sheridan. Among the 19 films produced by BK are The Kill Room with Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman, River Runs Red, Atone, 1 Angry Black Man, and Love Dot Com: The Social Experiment. His films have won IndiFEST Awards, and an AMAA Award.

BK’s accomplishments now include Broadway productions. He is a producer of The Wiz, The Piano Lesson, and The Outsiders which won four Tony Awards, including best musical.

Before becoming a filmmaker; B.K. worked for Verizon, the U.S Dept. of Commerce, AOL Time Warner, and the Urban League.

BK sits on the boards of Norfolk State University, Bon Secours Health System, TowneBank, Central Region Airport Commission, VA250/Virginia Commemorations Inc., and the Library of Virginia. His honors include: the Oscar Micheaux Award for Excellence in Filmmaking, and a National Book Award for nonfiction.

Meet Jesse Vaughan:

Jesse Vaughan is an award-winning director, producer, and writer whose feature film credits include Juwanna Mann, starring Miguel A. Núñez Jr., Vivica A. Fox, Tommy Davidson, Kevin Pollak, and Kim Wayans, and Muhammad Ali's The Last Punch starring Tony Grant and Keith David.

He is also known for his work on the legendary television series In Living Color, The Jesse Jackson Show for Quincy Jones Entertainment, the Barcelona Olympic Games, where he produced and directed productions featuring Elton John, Will Smith, En Vogue, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner and 13 other internationally acclaimed artists.
